Last month I reviewed Birchbox and this month I wanted to check out Ipsy. This bag was beautiful and I got to try so many great new products! Check it out for yourself.
What is Ipsy?
Just like Birchbox, Ipsy is a subscription box that cost $10 a month. Here's the best part.. you get a new makeup bag every month! On top of the makeup bag, you get five sample sized products to try. You can see the products that I got below! Meech and MIA, Loose Eyeshadow in Copper This eyeshadow is pretty pigmented. I have never ever used loose eyeshadow before, so it was really interesting to try. I honestly really liked the color and I thought it looked nice on my skin, however, I SUCK at putting on eyeshadow so uh yeah. The thing I liked the most about this is the fact that there wasn’t that much fallout. Maybe it was the way that I put it on or something, but It was great and easy to apply. I’m not actually sure when I would be able to wear something like this but I’m sure a time will come and I will be super happy that I have this to wear! Verdict: HIT (If you like a bold eye) Trust Fund Beauty, That Glo Tho Liquid Highlighter To be honest, I don’t know how I feel about this. I struggle with highlighter for some reason. Maybe its because I am picky or inexperienced but either way, I have tried liquid highlighters before and have failed epically. This liquid highlighter can double as eyeshadow however I don't know if I would use it in that way. It is really really thick but when I put it on my skin I was able to blend it and get a nice finish! Overall I thought it was great! Verdict: HIT Ciate London, Fierce Flicks Liquid Eyeliner I need to spend about 100 hours just putting on liquid eyeliner because I am so bad at it. I have been wanting to try a pen version of liquid eyeliner but never wanted to purchase it because when I did a few years ago, I looked ridiculous. After trying this one, I still looked ridiculous, but that is because I’m really not good at putting it on. I don’t think this is an amazing eyeliner, but I think it works for anyone trying to become more familiar with makeup and to practice! Verdict: HIT (For me at least) Mudmasky, Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask
This is a mud mask that promises to get your skin “gorg and glowy in under 15 minutes”. It contains montmorillonite clay, Moroccan lava clay, and Indonesian bamboo! These products together brighten, smooth and hydrate your skin. It says to “Leave it on for 7 minutes if you have dry skin, 9 for combination, and 11 if you’re on the oily side.”
This was super interesting. If you look closely you can see that there is stuff like leaves and specks of mud in the mask. Because of the clay, it does dry firmly which I don’t always like but given the fact that it was a mud mask that left my face as soft as it did, I am not complaining at all. It also smells really good. I didn’t experience any of the tingling the bottle mentioned which I was happy about!
Verdict: HIT Vasanti Cosmetics, Concealer Buffer Brush I LOVE THIS THING. I have such a huge love for brushes and I hardly ever use them. The interesting thing that I found about this brush, is that it was made by the same company that made the painful cleanser from my Birchbox last month! What they lack in a cleanser, the definitely make up for in brush! This is such a soft brush and I am so excited to keep playing with it and getting more experienced. Verdict: HIT Makeup Bag: Each month, Ipsy designs a new makeup bag that your products are shipped in. Each bag has a story and stands for something. This month our bag stands for being a Social Butterfly. “Fact: Life’s too short to skip all the fun stuff happening right now. Instead, we challenge you to be your best self, have your best spring, and RSVP ‘YASSSS” to everything that comes your way.” This month Ipsy wants all of their social butterflies to be as active as they can be. Overall Impression: Overall I loved this bag. I tried to put the products aside and base my thoughts on the service itself. I think its a great bonus to get a new bag every month and really makes you feel like you are getting the most bang for your buck. I would suggest it!
