Hi friends! I had planned on doing a cool little budgeting series after writing a post for Her Campus Hofstra, but it was confirmed on my Twitter when you guys voted for it. So, this is my little introductory post about what is to come, when it is coming, and you know all that fun stuff!
Starting next Sunday, I will be posting a new section to my 9 or 10-part series. I haven’t really figured all of that out yet, but I am getting there! Anyone that knows me, knows that if you need a discount… I am the person to go to!
You need almost free toilet paper… gotcha! What about free makeup? That’s me! Free Tide? Yup… I can handle that! How do you ask? Well, that’s what you're going to learn over the next few weeks! There are a few people that think I am crazy for just putting this out on my blog and not charging people to learn this but I’m trying to teach you how to save money…. Not take your money from you… that doesn’t make too much sense to me! Here is what you will learn: So first off, I am going to teach you how to coupon – yes you have to learn how to do this. Saving $20-30 a shopping trip is NOTHING. I’m going to teach you how to save 95% instead!
From here, I am going to show you how to save on food, makeup, household items, vacations, clothes, toys, Starbucks, date nights and more.
I will be making some printables for you guys to use as well to make it easier! I learned how to coupon on my own and it took a TON of trial and error. If you don’t know how to save correctly, then you are going to waste a lot of money for NO reason.
Here is my story:
Everyone knows that living, in general, is expensive. But being in college brings that to a new high (and living on Long Island doesn’t help!) College loans begin to add up just like every other loan in the world which caused me to start thinking of something to do about it. So, about a year ago, I decided I was going to learn how to save money. I originally did it, so I would have something to blog about and so I didn’t have to keep freaking out about my student loans. The blog part just wasn’t happening, I wasn’t doing it for the right reasons. Even though the blog thing didn’t stick, the saving money thing did. I set out to save as much money and get as much stuff for cheap as I could. It turned into a whole school years’ worth of shampoo, conditioner, Tide pods, toothpaste, tampons, body wash, lotion, tissues, some makeup, and more for FREE. Yeah, I mean free.
As you can see, I was kinda running out of room!
I can’t promise that after these blog posts you’ll be getting everything for free, but I will be able to teach you how to save on everything you buy.
So, now over half a year later, I am still using the stuff I got for free over the summer and am loving it. Just last week was the first time I had to purchase ANY household/beauty products. And it was deodorant! My goal is to show you how to do stuff similar to this and you can decide how far you would like to go! I'll give you my best tips, my best techniques and more!
Stay tuned for the next couple weeks to learn all I can teach you about saving money!
